Man arrested in connection with aggravated burglary

A man has been arrested at his home in Tipperary in connection with an aggravated burglary at the home of three elderly people last week.

The man was arrested at his home in Monard at 7am in a planned Garda operation.

He's being questioned about an attack on three elderly siblings who were tied up, in their home in Pallasgreen, Co. Limerick, and assaulted by two men armed with knives and a sword.

The suspect is being held by gardai in Limerick under Section 50 of the Offences Against the State Act.

He can be detained for up to seven days without charge.
