A Cashel Town Councillor has strongly condemned an incident in the town last evening when fire crews came under attack.
Sinn Fein's Martin Browne is also chairman of the residents association in Spafield Crescent where the incident happened.
The window of a fire tender was broken when rocks were thrown as crews tried to put out a bonfire in the estate.
Councillor Browne says fire crews have one of the hardest job and do not deserve to be attacked by yobs and cowards who feel the need to cover their faces when they get a few drinks in them.
He has called on anyone with information to contact the Gardai – a local man in his 20's has already been arrested and remains in Garda custody this morning.
