Major overcrowding at University Hospital Limerick today

Major overcrowding continues in University Hospital Limerick this afternoon.

There are 43 people in need of a bed at the hospital which serves North Tipp, Limerick and Clare – making it the busiest hospital in the country.

19 of those are in the Emergency Department, with 24 on trolley’s in already full wards.

Meanwhile, there are 11 patients on trolley’s in South Tipp General.

While across the country there are almost 400 people waiting for a bed this afternoon, according to the INMO.
