The ex North Tipperary councillor served on the local authority in Nenagh between 1999 and 2004, ran a business in Carrigatoher and was a retired commandant with the FCA.
He also worked as part of Máire Hoctor's team – Speaking to Tipp Fm she said Paddy Joe Cusack had an innate sense of civic duty and worked in a quite and effective way in whatever task he undertook.
