Lowry critical of Governments failure to tackle banking salaries.

Deputy Michael Lowry has slammed the Government's inaction on what he describes as the immoral salaries of banking chiefs.

He has urged the Government to take action in light of the recent payment package approved for the CEO of Bank of Ireland

The North Tipp Independent TD describes the salaries as an insult and flies in the face of sworn Government commitments to tackle the issue.

Deputy Lowry says its galling and repulsive for families struggling to keep their heads above water to see that the CEO's of banks which have been bailed out now earning such exorbitant amounts.

He says the inaction of the Minister for Finance and the Government on this matter has been inexcusable.
