Lough Derg RNLI crew called into service to rescue stricken cruiser

The Lough Derg RNLI Lifeboat was called into action yesterday when a vessel went aground near Dromane on the Clare shoreline.

An RNLI volunteer crossed over to the vessel and once satisfied the cruiser wasn't holed or taking on water it was taken off the rocks and brought to safe water.

The 8 people on board were unharmed.

Following a thorough check of drives and steering, and confirming the correct route on their chart, the cruiser and her passengers continued on its journey.
