A Government Order back in 2004 paved the way for an extra court and yesterday it was brought into existence by the appointment of seven judges to its bench.
The Justice Minister hopes the new court will help ease a two year backlog of cases – currently the earliest available date before the Special Criminal court is June 2017.

It’s understood there are several potential sites being looked at.
