Local St. Vincent de Paul leader advises against splashing out on Communion costs.

The Tipperary based national vice president of the St Vincent de Paul is advising people not to get into debt to pay for their children's religious ceremonies.

His comments come as the Government announced it's ending a grant for families struggling to meet the cost of First Holy Communion and Confirmation

Clonmel based Kieran Stafford says while these are important events for the family, people should stay within their means.
