Local politicians make their case for N24 upgrade

Political representatives from Tipperary have made their case to the Transport Minister for the upgrading of the Limerick – Waterford.

TD’s, County Councillors and local authority officials met with Minister Shane Ross at Government buildings yesterday afternoon to drive home the benefits of constructing a motorway through the Premier County to link the two cities.

A similar call is being made to have a motorway link between Limerick and Cork – however the Tipperary view is that connecting Limerick to the M8 in Cahir would serve that purpose and save nearly 400 million Euro in the process.

Cathaoirleach of Tipperary County Council Phyl Bugler says it’s vital that Tipperary’s Oireachtas members press the case with Minister Ross.
