Tipperary’s rivers and lakes can be hugely improved if everyone works together.
That’s according to the Local Authority Water Programme who’re reporting a slight improvement in water quality locally over recent months
LAWPRO is a national body that works with County Councils to protect and improve our waterways.
Regional Coordinator Fran Igoe (pron: I-go) is warning that there;s a lot of work to do after the EPA reported a 50-percent drop in the number of Tipperary rivers meeting a ‘good’ critera in the last fourteen years.
He’s also working with farmers to mitigate the effect of agriculture on our water quality but says everyone has a role if we want to see more improvements.
