A Tipperary Government TD says we shouldn't get carried away with the latest drop in the numbers signing on the Live Register in the county.

This weeks CSO figures show a fall of 238 across the county last month bringing the number claiming some form of unemployment benefit to below 14,000 for the first time since May 2009.

Fine Gael Deputy Noel Coonan says while its positive news, it needs to continue.

He said a local industry will be setting up in Templemore over the coming weeks with the creation of 18 jobs.
