€87 million has been invested into the rural economy through the LEADER element of the Rural Development Programme since 2009.
That's according to a new booklet recently published in the Farmers Journal.
1,246 jobs in rural Ireland and 3,320 enterprises have been created as a result.
In north Tipperary, one of the companies documented, Boulabán Ice Cream, Roscrea, supported by Leader is a huge success.
In south Tipperary, the focus centres on the development of the historic Butler Trail.
Collaboration between South Tipperary Tourism Company, South Tipperary Development Company, Fáilte Ireland, the OPW and South Tipperary County Council has resulted in a real boost in tourism as visitors follow the guided tour from Carrick-on-Suir to Cahir.
