Pauline, who was a native of Borris-in-Ossory, was the wife of former Fine Gael TD Noel Coonan.

Many tributes have been paid to her from across the political divide.

She has also been praised for her considerable work with local community groups around Templemore and Roscrea, in particular the Chernobyl Childrens programme.

Pauline Coonan will repose at Grey's Funeral Home in Templemore from 4.30 to 8.30 this evening with Funeral Mass at 11.30 tomorrow in the Church of the Sacred Heart.
