The Emergency Department at South Tipperary General Hospital is under intense pressure today.
According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation there are 18 patients waiting on trolleys at the Clonmel facility this morning.
This compares with 19 at the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick, 29 at Cork University Hospital and 8 at Waterford Regional Hospital.
Nationally the Organisation says there are 293 people awaiting admission to hospitals from Emergency Departments.
