Laois Councillors To Visit Tipperary Turbines

The 25 Laois County Councillors have been discussing a major industrial windfarm development planned for the midlands including North Tipp.

400 turbines are proposed for Counties Offaly, Laois, Meath, Kildare, Westmeath and Tipperary.

Councillor Willie Aird told members at this months meeting of Laois County Council that they would be gobsmacked at the size of turbines he had recently seen in North Tipp.

He asked County Manager Peter Carey to organise a visit to the windfarm in North Tipp to educate the councillors.
