Golden, which is situated in West Tipperary, has been looking for the plant for several decades…however, other projects in the county have taken priority.
The village is known for its fishing and water sports amenities…however, the lack of a plant is causing problems for the area to expand its tourism facilities.

Local Fine Gael Councillor Michael Fitzgerald says the potential is there for more tourism but they need something to be done about the waste water which is currently released into the river.
