However the Workers and Unemployed Action Group plan to hold a protest meeting outside the Town Hall on Sunday morning.

The group, led by Deputy Seamus Healy, describe the unveiling of the plaque is an act of gross hypocrisy on the part of the Labour Party.

Deputy Healy feels the austerity policy being imposed by the Labour Party in Government is the direct opposite of the policies advocated the founders James Connolly and James Larkin.
