Kelly says Labour is still a united party

The Deputy leader of the Labour party is denying that party members are shaken after Deputy Anne Ferris lost the whip yesterday.

The Wicklow TD voted against her party in favour of Clare Daly's amendment on abortion for fatal foetal abnormalities.

At a meeting of the Labour parliamentary party yesterday, Environment Minister Alan Kelly comforted Deputy Ferris, who was upset.

And while the Tipperary TD wouldn't comment on what he said to Ms. Ferris, he said he would remain in contact with her.
