The tourism trail is set to incorporate locations in counties from Cork to Meath, including the Rock of Cashel and Holycross Abbey in Tipperary along with sites in Kilkenny, Kildare, Wicklow, Wexford and Offaly.
However, there was no mention of Cahir in the proposal…a move which has been criticised by local tourism representatives.

Minister for the Environment and Tipperary TD Alan Kelly says that is not true and that plans are there to include the South Tipp town in the project.
