Waiting lists in Clonmel and Nenagh alone stand at over 12 hundred with just 40 vacant properties currently available.
Local representatives have expressed concerns that national funding allocations from Alan Kelly's department have yet to be announced and don't believe at this stage any significant impact can be made by the end of the year.
