Junior Cert results to be received today

Over 2,000 Tipperary students will receive their Junior Cert results today.

They are among 60,000 across the country who sat the state exam last June.

The balance between male and female students in the Premier County was almost 50-50 with 1,114 boys and 1,174 girls.

In all over 600,000 individual grades will be awarded in 26 different subjects.

Students will also be able to access their results online from 4 o'clock this afternoon.

The Teachers' Union of Ireland has congratulated the pupils on their achievements…President Joanne Irwin says it’s important they continue with their education.
