Job boost for Cahir

Wood Energy Solutions, based in Cahir with another office in Donaskeigh, near Dundrum, manufacture biomass boilers and microCHP for the domestic and commercial sectors. 

Up until now, its principle markets have been the UK, USA and Canada.

At a business breakfast meeting in Lyon, France this morning, WES announced it's expanding into mainland European markets through its joint venture company WOODCO. 

WOODCO has appointed a distributor in France for biomass boilers while the company has also signed a distribution agreement today with their first distributor in Spain. 

As a result of the contracts, 28 new jobs are set to be created over the next three years at Wood Energy Solutions' Tipperary offices.

Kerry based company Tricel, also signed contracts at the event in France this morning. 

The total value to the two Irish companies is in the region of 5 million euro. 

Today's event, which was attended by the Taoiseach was organised by Enterprise Ireland’s Paris office.
