Job losses in Tipp post offices

There will be ‘chaos’ in the postal service coming up to Christmas in Tipperary as 33 An Post workers are being let go across the county.

That’s according to Postman and All Ireland Referee Fergal Horgan who is one of those set to lose his job as part of the company’s long mooted cost cutting plans.

He says he is surprised the company are letting people go before Christmas as it is their busiest time of the year.

In all, 2,000 staff will be let go nationwide between now and 2020 – with over 300 in the run up to this Christmas.

He says it could cause chaos in December:
