A new survey by Standard Life shows people require around 30 thousand euro to live comfortably when they retire but only saves just over 3 thousand euro.

The survey also says almost half of Irish people would like a home in the sun or by the sea when they stop working.
The single biggest preference for individuals was to stay in their current home.
