Conditions at sea were rough with a South Easterly 1 metre high swell.  By 10:09 all 367 had been successfully been taken on board.

They are now receiving medical attention, screening, food and water.

The Eithne has been tasked with assisting the Italian authorities in the humanitarian search and rescue operations in the Mediterranean since May.

Since them it’s been involved in a series of successful missions – rescuing over 1,000 migrants.  The ship will be deployed for at least 6 months to the area.

The crew is now waiting for direction from the Italian Maritime Rescue Co-Ordination Centre for next tasking.
