Police are expected to press charges against the 35 year old driver of a black BMW for leaving the scene of a fatal crash.
Martin O'Connor from Roscommon was knocked down crossing the road in North Lauderdale in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 41-year-old father of two was taken to the local Broward Health Medical Centre but pronounced dead on arrival.
Mr O'Connor was a drummer with Declan Nerney's band and was due to play on board a cruise ship leaving Port Everglades yesterday.
