Irish man left abandoned at sea during round-the-world race lands in New Zealand

An Irish sailor who was left drifting at sea after his mast broke during a round-the-world race admits he was terrified when it happened.

Enda O'Coineen's yacht was damaged when it was hit by a squall, meaning he was forced out of the Vendee Globe challenge.

He's now back on dry land in New Zealand after drifting for several days.

The Galway man says things had been going well for him, but everything changed suddenly on New Year's Day.
