The Olympic Council of Ireland has launched an investigation into claims a man accused of ticket fraud in Brazil was selling tickets allocated to them.

The OCI says it has no knowledge of the alleged offence – despite the fact that Mr Mallon works for THG Sports, who was the Olympic Council of Ireland's official ticket re-seller for the London games.

Inspector Ricardo Barbosa of the Brazilian police told a press conference in Rio that the confiscated tickets were being offered for more than four times the original price.
