Limerick-based academic and curator Mike Fitzpatrick has been appointed Interim Head of the Limerick City of Culture project.

The announcement was made at a press conference in Limerick this lunchtime.
Mr Fitzpatrick will take over following the resignations of the Chief Executive of the project – Patricia Ryan, and artistic director Karl Wallace.
The curator and academic is described as having a “wealth of international experience” and an impeccable track record at a world class level.
