There’s been a marked increase in the number of patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick.

Today there are 38 patients waiting for a bed – the highest in the country.

It’s up from yesterday’s figure of 18 – but is signifiantly lower than the 2017 record of 69 – which came for the second time this year at the hospital on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, there are 11 patients on trolleys at South Tipp General this afternoon.
