Image of baby Maria released

The picture has been issued in the hope of encouraging anyone with any information to come forward.  

The baby was found wrapped in a fleece blanket in a paper Marks and Spencer bag on Steelstown Lane on the 8th of May.

Gardai say they have received a number of calls from the public since the original appeal was made. 

They have been followed up but Baby Maria's parents have not come forward. 

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Gardai or the Child and Family Agency, Tusla. 

They are also stressing that the baby's parents have nothing to fear. 

The photograph can be seen on the Garda Siochana Facebook and Twitter pages.
