ICS gives cautious welcome to vaping research

A study has found that 9 per cent of the 660 smokers surveyed were able to give up their nicotine fix within a year.

That's more than twice the rate of people using placebo devices.

But, the UK researchers say despite the encouraging results, more studies are needed.

Nenagh native, Kathleen O'Meara from the Irish Cancer Society says they still don't recommend vaping as a nicotine replacement.
