A war of words has broken out over the possible relocation of an assessment unit in Cashel.
Oireachtas members have been briefed this morning on the HSE's operation plan for the year ahead in South Tipperary.
In the wake of the meeting Deputy Mattie McGrath claimed people power had won out in the battle to retain the assessment unit at St Patrick's Hospital in Cashel.
However Minister of State Tom Hayes says Mattie McGrath's claims are premature.
Speaking to Tipp FM, the Area manager for Primary, Community and Continuing Care in South Tipperary, Anna Marie Lanigan, who addressed today’s meeting, says that nothing has been confirmed yet but they have plans to improve health services in the county.
