HSE give reassurances about future of Dean Maxwell Unit

The HSE has moved to reassure the public of the provision of Elderly Care services in the Dean Maxwell Community Nursing Unit in Roscrea.

According to the Executive reduced bed numbers at the facility are a result of staffing issues.

Dean Maxwell is considered to be of strategic importance in its provision of long stay, respite and intermediate level palliative care in North Tipperary.

Area Manager for Primary, Community and Continuing Care, Bernard Gloster says the unit is not targeted for closure nor will its palliative care capacity cease.
