Marked increase in new homes across the Premier County

The number of houses being built in Tipperary has increased by nearly a quarter compared to last year.

The latest government figures show commencement notices for 501 new homes in 2024.

That’s up from 411 last year however the figures for 2023 were down on the 420 started in the year before that.

Housing commencements peaked in Tipperary last September with 116 that month.

Only 35 new homes were started across the whole county in 2014.
