A Roscrea Councillor is calling for common sense to prevail in relation to a local authority housing development in the town.
Tipperary County Council has plans for 9 houses on Grove Street.
However a survey has shown there are bats in the area which could delay the project.
Councillor Shane Lee says the need for housing should prioritised.
“The contractor is appointed – they’re ready to go. We are in the middle of a housing crisis so I was just saying that a bit of common sense could be brought to the thing.
“I work very closely with housing here in Tipperary County Council and I know that the guys are doing everything in their power to try to get this speeded up as fast as possible. But now its going to be with the National Parks and Wildlife Service – they will be looking at this and see can they come to some sort of conclusion to get this closed off.”
