4.6% of homes in Tipp lie vacant

The residential vacancy rate in Tipperary at the end of last year was above the national average.

The vacancy rate for houses in the Premier County for the last quarter of 2024 was 4.6% compared to the national figure of 3.8%

The highest was recorded in Leitrim at 11.8% while Dublin had the lowest at 1.2%.

A total of 532 new residential address points were added to the GeoDirectory database in Tipp last year while 633 residential buildings were classified as under construction in the county last December.

The average house price in Tipperary was €237,367 in the twelve months to November 2024.

When it comes to derelict properties 20,092 residential address points across the State were classified as derelict – 1,125 or 5.6% of these were in Tipp

The highest concentration of derelict properties was recorded in Mayo at 14.0%.

The GeoDirectory database is used by many different companies and organisations across a diverse range of applications.

Its database and services are used by the Central Statistics Office to achieve more accurate census results.
