Hopes that South Tipp dementia project can continue.

The Five Steps to Living Well with Dementia programme – of which Tipp FM is a media partner – has been running since 2012 and aims to transform the life experience of people with Dementia and Alzheimer's disease and their families in the county.

Research suggests that the numbers with dementia is likely to rise from around 50 thousand now to 140 thousand in 30 years time.

Project lead Dr Catriona Crowe, who is a Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry, told Oireachtas members at a committee meeting that their funding is due to end next month but they are trying to continue the project.
