A local Cllr says there she has been given some hopes that Kilcoran Lodge may not be accepted by the department as an IPAS Accommodation centre.
The Department of Integration has previously confirmed it is considering an offer to house asylum seekers at the hotel outside Cahir.
But in a statement to TippFM News, the Receivers who are in the process of selling it say the offer did not come from them and no preferred buyer has been identified for the sale.
A spokesperson for the department has confirmed that an offer can only be considered if there’s proof of ownership or that those making the offer have the authority to do so.
