One of the main people behind the Tipperary international Peace Prize has been honoured.
Martin Quinn has been chosen as the Tipperary Association Dublin's Person of the Year for 2012.
Association President, Liam Myles, described Martin as the Mr Volunteer of Tipperary.
He said Martin Quinn's involvement and achievements in local, community and sporting groups – at parish, town, county and national level – is most impressive and reflects a lifetime of dedicated service to others as a volunteer.
Martin Quinn is the chairman of the Canon Hayes Recreation Centre in Tipp town and a former National President of Muintir na Tire
The Tipperary Association Dublin has also announced that one of the great legends of Tipperary hurling, Mickey “The Rattler” Byrne, is being honoured as the Hall of Fame Winner for 2012.
