Homelessness charity warns of crisis escalation

Over 8 thousand people accessed services from the Peter McVerry Trust last year. 

The homelessness charity says it reflects an 89 percent increase on 2014 figures.

The group is releasing its annual report today and is calling on the government to take a proactive approach on the issue of vacant private housing.

CEO of the Trust – Pat Doyle says although they helped a number of people last year there is still thousands more in need of their support.
