The number of people waiting on trolleys for treatment at South Tipperary General Hospital is the highest for any hospital outside of Dublin.
According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation figures there are presently 16 people on trolleys at the Accident and Emergency Department of the Clonmel facility.

Nationally there are 188 people in a similar situation with just St Vincent's and the Mater in Dublin with more people on trolleys than South Tipp General.
