The number of patients without a bed at University Hospital Limerick remains in the low 30s – significantly lower than has been experienced in recent times.
According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation there are no beds available for 340 people who have been admitted to hospitals across the country.
32 of these are at UHL which serves North Tipp, Limerick and Clare.
The UL Hospital group recently cancelled all elective and scheduled care at every hospital in the group including Nenagh General in a bid to ease overcrowding in Limerick.
The nursing union is reporting that 19 patients are being cared for on trolleys around the Emergency Department at TUH in Clonmel while there are 5 patients without a bed in Nenagh.
