Tipperary takeaway closed after mouse droppings were found in a food preparation area

115 closure orders were issued by the Food Safety Authority last year.

The authority says it’s seen an increase of 45 per cent in the number of enforcement order issued, compared to 2023.

It’s also reporting nine closure orders last month including one in Tipperary.

An FSAI inspector visited the Panda Chinese Take Away on Main Street in Clogheen on December 11th last.

Mouse droppings were noted in the food preparation area and storage rooms.

They also found dirt, grease and food debris on the main kitchen floor and walls as well as on woks, microwave and rice cookers.
