Visiting your local GP could be a thing of the past for Tipperary people within the next decade.

The Association of General Practitioners is warning that the GP shortage recently experienced in Bansha and Thurles is likely to get worse.

They say the age profile of doctors is getting steadily older and many practices are unable to secure locum cover for holidays.

Speaking on Tipp Today Killenaule based Dr Lucia Gannon said seeing your local GP may not be an option for many of us soon.
