Temporary closure order served on part of local pub

A Tipperary pub was among a number of premises served with Closure Orders by the Food Safety Authority last month.

The Miner’s Rest in Ballingarry was visited by an inspector from the FSAI on January 14th which led to the closure of the external drinks storage room

Rodent faeces were observed on the floor of the room in close proximity to opened boxes of bottled alcoholic drinks which were not protected against contamination.

The order was lifted on January 17th.

A prohibition order was also served on the Miner’s Rest on the sale of two opened boxes of alcoholic drinks as a result of the inspection.

In all eight restaurants and food businesses were issued with closure orders during January.
