Slight reduction in ED waiting times at UHL over the last decade

The average waiting time in the Emergency Department at University Hospital Limerick is half an hour more than it was 10 years ago.

It currently stands at 8.6 hours in the hospital covering North Tipp, Limerick and Clare.

Nationally average waiting times at emergency departments are one hour longer compared to 2015 at just over 7 hours.

However, wait times are significantly longer at certain hospitals, with people waiting an average of just over 12.5 hours at Tallaght Hospital in Dublin, and just under 11.5 hours at Naas Hospital in Kildare.

The average at TUH in Clonmel is 5.3 hours which is a reduction from the 6 hours recorded a decade ago.
