Plans move ahead for South Tipp General and Cashel Hospitals

It’s been confirmed that the 40 bed modular unit at South Tipp General Hospital will go ahead.

Minister for Health Simon Harris also say he intends to progress plans for a day hospital in Cashel.

Less than 24 hours after speaking to Tipp FM on plans he was poised to release – Health Minister Simon Harris issued the station with a statement this morning stating that funding has been secured for the long since mooted 40 bed step-down facility on the grounds of South Tipp General Hospital and the project to go to tender.

Its hoped the movè will alleviate major overcrowding problems at the Clonmel hospital.
