Overcrowding in hospitals serving Tipperary continues

There are more than 60 people waiting for a bed today in hospitals serving the Tipperary region.

South Tipp General in Clonmel has 31 people waiting on trolleys in the Emergency Department and in overflow areas of wards.

While University Hospital Limerick – which serves North Tipp – has 30 patients waiting today.

Cork University Hospital is the most overcrowded in the country with 38 people in need of a bed followed by University Hospital Galway with 34 waiting.

According to the INMO – there are 425 patients waiting for a bed at hospitals across the country.
