Local hospital campaign groups praised

The HSE Mid-West Regional Executive Officer is praising the work of the Nenagh Needs its A&E and Mid-West Hospital Campaign groups.

The local campaigners have been protesting since local Emergency Departments were shut down in favour of UHL 15 years ago.

And they’ve been highly critical of the HSE plan to takeover the new Community Nursing Unit building in Nenagh to use as a step-down to ease overcrowding at the hospital in limerick which also serves north Tipperary.

But Sandra Broderick has told Tipp FM news she recognises that their campaigning has helped secure funding and the political will to combat the crisis.
